Emily Brandt’s practice focuses on litigation. Emily primarily handles plaintiff’s personal injury cases, employment law, family law, and criminal matters, and contract and property disputes.

Emily was born and raised in Beloit, Kansas. She attended Fort Hays State University, graduating summa cum laude with a B.A. in Political Science in 2018. While at FHSU she served two terms as Student Body President. Emily then attended Washburn University School of Law, where she graduated with Dean’s Honors in 2021. While in Law School, Emily was a Staff Writer for the Washburn Law Journal. During her third year of Law School, Emily was awarded the John F. Kuether Faculty Award for the Best Comment for her analysis of the insanity defense in Kansas. Emily was inducted into the Order of Barristers which is the highest honor a law student can attain for the distinction in oral advocacy. Emily received the CALI Excellence for the Future Award in Appellate Practice, earning the top score in the class. While in law school, Emily interned with a plaintiff’s personal injury firm and worked for two lobbying firms during the Kansas Legislative Session.

Upon graduation from law school, Emily returned to her home of North Central Kansas and joined Hampton & Royce in 2021.
